* mislabeled "Escape"
|
In 1975 recorded
in California for a King Biscuit Flower Hour this is of course an edited
version of the concert of "Welcome To My Nightmare". An incorrect
track No. 10 as "Escape" is really "I Love The Dead"...oh
yeah I get those two songs mixed up all the time. The quality is very
good for a bootleg. Since this is the start of Alice's solo career. He tours with a new backing band: Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter - guitars, Prakish John - bass, Pentti "Whitey" Glan - drums, Jozef Chirowski - keyboards. Plus his additional performers such as the dancers which include his future wife Sheryl Goddard among others. |

Recorded in Saginaw, MI.,
misdated the correct date is May 10, 1978. This too was recorded for King
Biscuit Flower Hour. Alice was doing his "School's Out Summer"
tour which consisted of classic tunes and his first three solo records
"Welcome To My Nightmare", "Goes To Hell" and "Lace
& Whisky". The quality of this bootleg is also as good as"Creatures of My Nightmare". Of course they have 2 songs on track 7 "Unfinished Suite" followed by "Escape" then for track 8 "I Love The Dead" which isn't listed. Band: Steve Hunter and Jefferson Kewley - guitars, Dee Murray - bass, Dennis Conaway - drums, Fred Mandel - keyboards. Then you have the dancers. |

1979 - April 14 |
Madhouse Rock tour promoting “From The Inside” album, Alice’s
first dry concert after being released from the detox hospital. Quality
is pretty good for audience recording. I would say this is one of the
better performances from this tour. The intro is a recording of Vincent
Price’s voice as he introduces Alice Cooper. Alice covers much
from his “From The Inside” lp as well as the classics such
as “I’m Eighteen’, “Dead Babies” and “Ballad
of Dwight Fry” to name a few. The encore “School’s
Out” is about 20 minutes in length as Alice talks to the crowd
and introduces the band w/ each member playing a solo. Also Alice says,
“Onetime for Keith Moon he would of wanted it that way.”

1979 - April 17 |
Not as clear compared to the April 14th concert but listen able. Also
some audience chatter, which really bugs me. |
|
1980 - July 26 1. Model Citizen |
Flush The Fashion tour is one of the rare
recordings. I know I planned to see Alice perform at an outdoor concert
in New Hampshire along w/ Garland Jefferys and some other New Wave artist
only to be canceled. Band: Mike Pinera: guitar, Fred Mandel: guitar, Erik Scott: bass |

Rock Legends 1978 |
Shown as Glasgow, Scotland Feb. 2, 1982 is really February
19, 1982 from radio broadcast. A concert from "Special Forces"
tour, Alice's New Wave period. The quality is very good since it was
recorded from a radio broadcast. Alice sounds great as he goes through
his newer songs at the time as from "Flush The Fashion" and
"Special Forces" album. Plus Alice sings some of his classics
with a newer style. The edition on the end of this CD is Rock Legends 1978 from Detroit 101 WRIF radio show. This consist of 5 minute or so history of Alice Cooper with a brief Alice snippet followed by a 1978 concert version of "Under My Wheels". |

1982 - Feb 19 1. Who Do You Think You Are |
This is the complete show the radio special
that I listed above this review. The songs that weren’t aired on
the radio probably due to time constraints are “Pain”, “Billion
Dollar Babies” and closing out w/ a little “Vicious Rumours”
are on this recording. During Alice’s New Wave period this show was the “Special Forces” tour. The band gave the older songs a new sound as well as Alice’s albums during that time. This concert is one of my favorites. Alice does an excellent version of “I’m Eighteen” w/ some guitar jamming. Also “Generation Landslide” has some real excellent extended instrumental work. But to top it all off is “School’s Out” as Alice introduces the band and they all play a brief solo. Guitarist Mike Pinera goes into “Vicious Rumours” right at the end as Alice sings a few lines from the song. Alice does a good mix of playing some of his newer material like songs from “Flush the Fashion” and “Special Forces” . Plus relying on his classics to please the audience. As I noted above the band brings a fresh sound to the classics. It really is an excellent concert. Band: John Nitzinger: guitar, Erik Scott: bass, Jan Uvena: drums, Mike Pinera: guitar, Wayne Cook: keyboards |

1986 - Nov 23 |
Known as The Nightmare Returns, The Constrictor Tour. This is Alice’s
return to shock rock w/ his new band and album ‘Constrictor’.
Covering some of the classics like ‘Billion Dollar Babies’,
‘Elected’, and ‘Under My Wheels’. You get 3
songs from ‘Constrictor’ which are ‘The World Needs
Guts’, ‘Give It Up’ and ‘Teenage Frankenstein’.
The new band brings more heavy metal sound to the classics, which isn’t
a bad thing just breathing new life into them. Only thing is the interruption
on ‘Ballad of Dwight Fry’ which is in the last minute of
the song. This may be from the tape ending and having to flip it over.
Besides that the quality is very good. |
|
Vinyl |
This vinyl bootleg is from London's Wembley Arena, Nov. 23, 1986. This is Alice's "Constrictor" tour with his new heavy metal band. Kane Roberts and Devlin 7 - guitars, Devlin 7 also known as Johnny Dime on "Raise Your Fist & Yell" tour, was actually Arthur Funaro. Kip Winger - bass, Paul Horowitz - keyboards, Horowitz was renamed Paul Horror. Paul later changed his name to Paul Taylor. Ken Mary - drums. Plus additional performers like dancer, nurse, executioner, etc. So since Alice comes back with a more metal sounding band they also like the New Wave band give a heavy sound to some of the old classics. Audio quality has a sort of tinny sound to it. |
|
1987 - Nov 10 Disc 1 |
Raise Your Fist & Yell tour starts off w/ ‘Teenage Frankenstein’
that is longer than the album version due to Alice theatrics of him
making a monster. Quality is good. Alice performing w/ his ‘splatter’
rock band gives a very heavy metal sound to the songs although I can’t
but help hearing “RYF&Y” sound in some of the classics.
I do like hearing ‘Killer’ this song hasn’t been covered
live in years. Of course you have the ‘School’s Out’
introduction to the band by Alice, which brings it to about a 10 minute
song. They close w/ ‘Freedom’ and ‘Under My Wheels’
In all a great concert to see as well. |

1987 - Nov 11th, WBYR Interview Buffalo N.Y.
w/ Alice Cooper & Kane Roberts promoting and "Raise Your Fist & Yell" album and Tour. This recording has Alice & Kane talking about the new album and tour as well as spinning some of their favorite songs from other artists and some tracks from 'RYF&Y' CD. The interview is pretty funny as Alice & Kane goof around as they take callers. Some funny bits but nothing informative just 2 musicians letting their hair down and enjoying themselves. There are 2 edits on Disc 2. The beginning of Disc 2 you miss a Led Zeppelin song and the end of disc as they are just about to play Kane Roberts 'Rag Doll' track from his solo CD cuts out to end this recording. Don't know how much was missing but you have over an hour of interview & music. About 36 minutes on Disc 1 and 45 minutes on Disc 2. |
|
1988, April 27 DISC 1 |
Recorded from an audience this concert at
times goes high & low. Also has a tinny sound to it. The “Raise
Your Fist & Yell” tour was on of most theatrical shows Alice
brought back to the stage. You also have (Rambo) Kane Roberts on guitar.
If you have “Prime Cuts” DVD you could view some of the numbers
from this tour. A very Metal concert as the band gives a heavier sound. You also have some instrumental parts or extended play such as beginning of “Chop, Chop, Chop”, “Killer” when Alice heads for the gallows. During “School’s Out” Alice introduces the band as they play a lil’ solo. Band: Kane Roberts: Guitar, Johnny Dime: Guitar, Steve Steele: Bass Paul Horowitz: Keyboards, Ken Mary: Drums |
