Brutal Planet tour of the album of the same name recorded in my hometown again but this time I was there other than the ’73 Billion Dollar Babies tour I have posted.
The concert was amazing and if you really want a good version I suggest getting the DVD “Brutally Live”. One of the things I don’t like about this recording isn’t the show. It’s the recording of the show. They have each song shut down after each track like it’s an individual track. It doesn’t flow together like other concert bootleg recordings. Besides that it’s not a bad audio. Only song that gets cut is part of the instrumental.
You have 7 songs from “Brutal Planet” which I love to death…oh wait that’s another album. It’s cool to hear the new songs live and the band brings a new vibe to the classics as they give a heavier feel to them. During the intro of “It’s Only The Little Things” when Alice talks to the crowd about things that bug him. He gives it a personnel touch as he says, “I get in traffic in Boston & everything is under construction! Everything! “. As the natives of Boston really dug that comment cause during this time Boston has been under major construction for quite some time. We all have to deal w/ detours; closed roads, jersey barriers but having Alice make a comment on it made me bust a gut.
Alice also does a cover of The Who’s “My Generation” during “Billion Dollar Babies”.

DragonTown tour is the sequel to “Brutal Planet” but wasn’t as popular. I have to say I wasn’t that pleased w/ “Dragontown” album. It’s not as good as “Brutal Planet” to me it’s a poor follow up. But I have to say when hearing “DragonTown” songs live that made me approach it a little more. Alice only covers 5 tracks from “DragonTown” and 2 of the songs are in a medley at the beginning of the concert. What I like during this show Alice sings “Sanctuary” from “Brutal Planet” which he didn’t cover during the “Brutal Planet” tour. Some past Alice songs that are played is “Welcome To My Nightmare”, “Nurse Rozetta” and “Lost In America”. As for cover song Alice does Hendrix’s “Fire” which he has covered on a b-side and now on the box set.
This also includes the instrumental and drum solo in its entirety. The audio is great and the songs flow into one another as the tracks switch.

This is a very interesting concert that Alice sings a few covers. One of the few shows and again not many recordings of this concert. There is some audience interruptions during a few numbers but during the rare cover songs I'm glad to say they seem to shut up. The cover songs are The Beatle’s ‘Back In The USSR’, The Who ‘My Generation’ which Alice covered during his “Brutal Planet” tour. The Rolling Stones ‘Brown Sugar’ and ‘Honkey Tonk Women’. Last cover is Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting’.
I believe Eric Dover was co-vocals on Elton’s song.

The Eyes of Alice Cooper or The Bare Bones tour this Massey Hall has a good reputation among Alice fans collecting bootlegs. The quality is just as good as the bootleg DVD that’s floating around.
Since “Eyes…” album is a more stripped down version of a garage rock band Alice tours w/ 4 musicians. Plus his theatrics are cut down so the stage show isn’t as big but this has no effect on the show. Alice’s music stands for itself and doesn’t need the theatrics. It’s just an added feature. You have 5 tracks from “Eyes of Alice Cooper” album. During “Detroit City” he replaces “Detroit” w/ “Toronto” not something he did during every concert just I think he wanted to thank Toronto for having and always welcoming him.

3. Band Intro/Under My Wheels

Second leg of the Eyes of Alice Cooper Tour brings Alice to Germany. This is a very good quality for bootleg. I hear no audience over talking during the songs. Alice performs w/ an adjustment in his set list of this second leg of the tour. Some of the replaced set is ‘Muscle of Love’, ‘Gutter Cats vs The Jets’, ‘Sick Things’, ‘Brutal Planet’ and from his New Wave days “Who Do You Think We Are’ w/ out the helicopter intro. It’s real good to hear some of these older songs. As for the new album “Eyes…” Alice keeps 3 songs from 2003 tour ‘Man of The Year’, ‘Between High School & Old School’, and ‘What Do You Want From Me?’. This time he replaces ‘Novacaine’ for ‘Backyard Brawl’. Another change is Tony Clufetos who replaced Eric Singer who most likely was touring w/ Kiss. Cluetos was good backing the band but not that outstanding during his solo performance. The only gap was drum solo that seemed to get interrupted for a second. I don’t know if it was originally from a flipping over a recording tape or what but it really doesn’t matter at all. The band is pretty tight on this show. It sounds like it was an excellent concert.
