7" Single
Wonder Who's Loving Her Now?/Lay Down And Die Goodbye
This 1967 replica 45 vinyl is from Pre Alice band The Nazz a very short time in use until they found out Todd Rundgren's The Nazz was more popular. This is very Yardbirds influenced. "Lay Down And Die Goodbye" will later appear on their second album Easy Action in a much more longer format.

Disc One and Two are good that includes Demos, Pre-Production, Live, and Radio Ads from those classic years. Most Alice fans have these recordings but some are a bit cleaner & you may be missing a few versions.

Disc 1: Treasures One
Consist of Pre-Alice Cooper, Spiders (Pre Alice) "No Price Tag". Demos from Pretties For You and Killer. Radio Ads for Easy Action, Love It To Death and Killer albums. Some live performances from those albums listed above. Pre-Production of "I'm Eighteen."
Some of these tunes are interesting to hear such as "On A Train" before they changed the title to "Sing Low Sweet Cheerio." "Fields Of Regret" is always good to hear as they perform this live at Chicago Underground 1970. Demo "Tornado Warning" later titled "Desperado". I believe at one point this was also title "Desert Night Thing" that is if my demo collection is correct.

Disc 2: Treasures Two
Some more Radio Ads for Akron Rubber Bowl in '72, Muscle Of Love and Great Hits album and Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper '74 movie. Pre-Production of Outtakes and Demos from School's Out and Muscle Of Love albums. Kids Session during School's Out. "School's Out" Live '72 in Mar Y Sol, Puerto Rico.
Some of the tracks I enjoyed are the Demos from Muscle Of Love album. Kids Session during School's Out was interesting to listen in on.

Disc 3: In Their Own Words
This is an edited version of the DVD interview.
Beginning of this disc includes an older interview w/ Alice and Neal Smith. The older interview is rare in that they actually talk about having a chicken on stage more than once.

Disc 4: Bootleg Killer Live St. Louis 1971
This is the vinyl version on CD. This is a good concert as they are doing the Killer Tour. It's always cool to hear the original band performing especially during "Halo Of Flies" which shows they are more than a garage band.

Now I can see the Bootleg vinyl and CD being included in the package. The vinyl was just a throw back to the record shops we would find these type of shows. But I am disappointed w/ the CD and DVD of the interview. Either one or the other.
They could of added more classic performances on CD or include whole Detroit Tube Works plus some other performances they appeared on.

MP3 download: Jaegermeister Concert
The following was an Announcement:
The 'Jägermeister Ice Cold Event' is set to make history as the UK's first holographic 4D rock gig and will celebrate the release of the new Alice Cooper Box Set 'Old School: 1964-1974'. Featuring original band members Alice Cooper, Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce, plus Steve Hunter standing-in for the late Glen Buxton, the 'Jägermeister Ice Cold Event' will be the first time the group has 'appeared' together in the UK since 1972. (Please note: This is a multmedia event and the band will not be there in person. The show will feature a specially recorded concert which is then given the 4D holographic treatment for presentation).

From what I heard the visual wasn't the greatest it was blurred.
But the MP3 is excellent. You have the original band and Steve Hunter.
I just wish it was longer but they cover the hits.

DVD
The price of this box set is quite high. I am sure the avid fan isn't going to pay this amount of money. So the most loyal fans like myself are purchasing this box set. I was disappointed w/ the DVD. I wish they had some old concerts and promos. I have a majority of this material that is on the DVD. Also the DVD is an edited version of the 3rd Disc "In Their Own Words". They did add some videos such as "Reflected" and "Levity Ball" promos. Clip of the Cinn. Concert, the gallows segment, "School's Out" excerpt, Detroit Tube Works performing "I'm Eighteen" and "Black Juju". Interesting home movie of the group backstage and on the plane. Bonus feature was "Is It My Body" from Detroit Tube Works and introduction to the box set by Bob Ezrin. Funny thing is Bob goes into detail what's in the box set which we already know since we bought it. But he tells us they didn't include the reason of the band splitting up due to recording time. If they didn't include Bob's segment we would of had time. But I just think they didn't want to make this a he said they said thing. They want to show everyone is still friends which they are to some extent.
Alice, Dennis, Neal & Michael interviewed at Cooperstown. Alice and Dennis did most of the talking. Michael was pretty quite during the interview. Later Alice was on the road so they split the interview segment of just Alice and Dennis, Neal & Michael in another location.

Artwork: The package in a whole I give it 5 Eyes. Created by "School's Out" artist Ernie Cefalu. From the "School's Out" desktop album art "Old School" is a large box about 15 and a half x 13 and a half inches and 2 and a half inches deep. The top of the desk art has this great carving of an apple w/ a slice missing and a snake wrapping around it w/ a banner reading 1964 on one side and1974 on the other. Circling the art it reads "Alice Cooper "Old School". The cover like the "School's Out" artwork has the graffiti carvings of Alice, Michael, Neal and D.D. + C.S. Dennis Dunaway adds his wife Cindy Smith (Neal's sister) Cindy was the custom designer & dancing tooth for the band. They all included her as one of the silent band members. A switchblade through a heart w/ R.I.P. G.B., a salute to their lost bowery brother Glen Buxton. On the back spine of the package were the limited edition number is located has 2 more initials B.E. + E.C. Referring to Art Direction Ernie Cefalu and Bob Engelsiepen. Back of the box is the underneath of the desk w/ gum and folded paper taped for the "3rd period English test".

When you lift up the lid you have the inside of the desk loaded w/ girlie magazines, rubber snake, a baseball, playing cards, rubber nose & glasses, chattering teeth and a very cool Alice Medusa silver pin. Under the lid is photo of the band from "Love It To Death" and Alice Cooper stickers. Also earwigs are roaming in and out the desk.

Inside the box set you have separate track sheet list of what is on the CDs. I don't know why they didn't list them on each CD sleeve or on the disc. The only thing I can think of they did this in a rush after Alice was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Yearbook like the DVD was broken up in four segments. Freshman 1964 - 68, Sophomore 1968 - 70, Junior 1970 - 72, Senior 1972 - 74. Includes text pretty much of the interview from the DVD. Lots of vintage photos of the band and posters. Some pen & ink writing on the side of the pages very well designed. The book also includes a foldout section of photos.

The folder cover has a photo of the band in their sailor suits from Muscle of Love tour. Inside includes a copy of The Killer Tour booklet. Six color reproductions on 8x11 stock like the setlist of concert on a ripped out spiral bound notebook sheet. Greatest Hits album art by Drew Struzan. This piece was bit dark I think they ran heavy on the ink. Ernie Cefalu's poster for Alice gig that never happened at The Palace. It's Alice Medusa head w/ decorative border poster art. A black & white illustration in a 6 panel cartoon setting of these 2 billboard painting the Alice Medusa head then turn to stone in the last panel. It sort of reminds me of a MAD illustration. Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper movie poster. This poster includes illustrations of Shirley Temple, W.C. Fields and Betty Boop at the bottom reading "A unique film experience combining concert footage and movie highlights of all time hollywood favorites." This must be the edited version poster w/movie footage instead of the band skits in between concert footage. Last item is a photo of Billion Dollar Babies tour poster that includes the American flag dripping on a naked Alice w/ only snake and the band inset in the stars of the flag.
A reproduction of Empire Pool, Wembley concert ticket dated Friday, June 30th, 1972.
