Love & Armageddon  Guitarist Ryan Roxie releases a new CD from his band Roxie 77. This CD isn't an official release on any record label but is recorded in quality sound. Produced mostly by Gilby Clarke and Roxie Ryan this album shows off Roxie's talents as a musician who loves the 70's. The band is Dan Myres, Jeff Morose, Mike Fasano who played w/ Ryan on Dad's Porno Mag and Teddy Zig Zag who played w/ Ryan on Alice Cooper's tours. Starting out w/ a great track 'Bustin' Out' reminding me a little of Blue Oyster Cult. 'My Girlfriend' sounds like it could of came from Dad's Porno Mag w/ Ryan's witty lyrics as he sings ..my girlfriend got a girlfriend... 'Second Chances' Ryan ask the question we all ask. Ryan gets a little funky w/ 'Beat 'Em'. 'Love Is War' is a good ballad which is an excellent track. 'Simple Plan' is Ryan dealing w/ his newborn as he sings ...something that changed me from a boy to a man... 'One More Day' Ryan tips his hat to Alice's previous album 'DragonTown' as he sings ...one more year still in this DragonTown, where they eat you up and spits you out... It took me a while to get into this CD since I measured it to Dad's Porno Mag but I have to say Roxie 77 is a breath of fresh air. |
