Live At Montreux DVD + CD

On July 2005 in Sweden, Alice Cooper performs at
the Montreux. well really to be specific it's The 39th Montreux Jazz
Festival which last from July 1 to 16th. Alice starts off his leg of
tour promoting his new release "Dirty Diamonds". This 93 minute
concert includes quite a collection of Alice songs through out his career.
Alice performs 2 songs from "Dirty Diamonds" as well as 2
from his previous "Eyes of Alice Cooper". Includes the staples
like "No More Mr Nice Guy", "I'm Eighteen", "Be
My Lover", "School's Out" and "Poison". Out
of the 27 tracks I notice 17 of the songs are from his solo career which
shows Alice still created hits on his own. It was good to hear "I
Never Cry" a ballad from "Go To Hell" album which I haven't
heard in a longtime. "Gimme" from his underrated "Brutal
Planet" album and "Lost In America" from "The Last
Temptation" album that is another hidden gem of a record. From
"Eyes of Alice Cooper" he performs 2 of my favorite tracks
"Between High School & Old School" and "What Do You
Want From Me".
The CD is shorter than the concert (19 out of 27 tracks) which they
deleted the instrumentals of drum and guitar solos. Also some of the
medley of tunes and I really didn't have to hear "Only Women Bleed"
again. So I think the choices for the audio were good ones.
Alice includes all the theatrics including the swords,
crutch, guillotine and straitjacket to name a few. Calico, Alice's daughter
plays many roles from dancer, Vampire to Paris Hilton.
Band includes Guitar: Ryan Roxie, Guitar, Keyboards: Damon Johnson,
Bass: Chuck Garric, Drums: Eric Singer. |
