Hard -N- Heavy, vol 1
1989, came a great media of using VHS as a music magazine. Hard-n-Heavy was the best thing to come on VHS and promoted the metal bands of the times. This 1st volume Alice gives a brief interview and they show some clips of Alice in the section titled "Legends On Film" . The rest of the tape is pretty good to watch with artist such as Ozzy, Anthrax, Lemmy, Dio, to name a few and some funny uncensored cartoons.

1989
Hard -N- Heavy, vol 3
Alice appears in the "Trick or Treat" section of this volume. Alice goes through a large sack and pulls out certain items which some pertain to his career and some funny objects. Alice gives a good performance of just ad libs and comments.

1990
Metal Head video magazine
Another Hard-n-Heavy spin off on Heavy Metal VHS tapes this one called Metal Head is just as good. Only problem is it's a short segment of Alice promoting the movie "Shocker" at the Shocker premier party. Dave Mustaine is also with Alice as Alice throws the switch on the electric chair in which Dave is sitting in.
You wonder why I give this 3 eyes well it's the rest of the VHS that I also enjoy. One section is a cool Thunder Warrior heavy metal animation from Japan. Also some other artist like Salty Dog, EZO, Little Caesar plus interview with artist Robert Williams who did Guns n Roses controversial album cover.

1991
Prime Cuts
One of the best documentary of Alice Cooper. this includes interviews with Alice, Shep Gordon, Bob Ezrin, Ozzy and Slash. Also some outstanding footage of Alice performing with the Original band as this goes all the ways through "Hey Stoopid" album which covers up to 1991.

Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
Alice appears in a cameo near the end of the film. Alice plays Freddy Kruger's abusive guardian who beats the teenage Freddy. This scene only last about 2 minutes the most. This was originally released in theaters as a 3-D movie. Later as it came out on vhs it dropped this effect. As "Freddy" movies this isn't bad but not one of the best. Includes return cameo of Johnny Depp (who was in the very first "Nightmare On Elm St." movie.
Other cameos were Tom and Roseanne Arnold.
I have the "Digitally Remastered" vhs which includes original trailer and interview w/ director Rachel Talalay which is about 10 minutes more or less. No Alice mention during the interview.
As for Freddy's movies go I say this is isn't one of the better ones. Only good part beside Alice appearance is the final confrontation w/ Freddy.

1991
Waynes World
What can one say other than "We're not worthy" a famous line that will always be quoted. This classic comedy films is one of the best so far that Alice has acted in. It also hit number one in movie ratings. Alice makes a brief appearance as himself as characters Wayne and Garth go backstage to meet Alice and the band. Alice talks about the history of Milwaukee like he's conducting a History class. The backstage segment is worth seeing.
During the concert segment Alice is singing "Feed My Frankenstein" which is not show in it entirety.
As a whole picture this is an excellent comedy.

1999
British Rock Symphony
A musical tribute to The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin. Along with the BRS some of the musicians who sing these covers are Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, Paul Young to name a few or just worth mentioning. Alice sings Rolling Stones "Start Me Up" and The Who "5:15" with some help from Roger Daltrey. This number is very well done and really enjoy seeing Alice sing one of my favorite Who songs and with Daltrey. Besides Alice's appearance the rest of this concert is pretty boring.

Brutally Live
Well if you read my "Brutal Planet" CD review you will know I think this one of Alice's best records. Alice takes his dark story of "Brutal Planet" to the stage. Almost like Blade Runner the musical as the stage is covered with debris of human bones, torn down buildings, abandon cars. Alice is playing with one of the finest backing bands in a long time. They play the classic hits as well but give it a fresh sound.

The Alice Cooper Story
Prime Cuts Special Edition 2 disc set

The deluxe set is even better as the second disc has footage from VH-1 Behind The Music interview with the Original Band members and some cool concert footage from "Raise Your Fist And Yell" tour which is also a rare find.

One thing I don't like is the "Snakes & Ladders" game on the 2nd DVD that you have to go through to view all the clips & concert footage. There is a way to skip all that & just view the whole interview and concert footage w/ out any interruptions.
Using your DVD remote control, manually input Title 2 and Chapter 1.
Or another way is...
Use the GO TO button on your remote (or similar looking button) and manually enter the Title 2 and Chapter 1. Ignore the menu that comes up when the disc loads.
Good Luck!

Alice Cooper Special Edition EP
Taken from "The Grey Whistle Test" a show on German TV this DVD shows us Alice performing with the original band back in 1971 - 72. Performing "Under My Wheels", "I'm Eighteen" and "Public Animal #9" this is a classic and a must have to all fans.

Brutally Live DVD + CD Collector's Edition
Re-released in 2003 this Brutal Planet Tour comes with an added CD of the concert as well. Although edited out are 5 tracks including the instrumental. Ok so I know the CD wouldn't hold the whole concert but why delete "Pick Up The Bones" especially when it's part of the new material of the Brutal Planet album. I know, I know for the public they rather leave in a hit song rather than some non air played tune but I still believe it should of been included on the CD. The other songs edited out are "Dead Babies" a rare tune as well but I can see they do have it out on the "Billion Dollar Babies" Deluxe CD with the live version from '73 and from the original band too boot! Another great tune and favorite of mine is "Ballad of Dwight Fry" from "Love It To Death" album. "I Love The Dead" and "Black Widow" also edited out but the latter was really an instrumental which leads into a drum solo by Eric Singer. Eric's a great drummer but to tell the truth if Alice wasn't involved it's not a big deal.

The DVD is the same as the original version that came out previously. Even the Special Features "Gimme" video and alternate camera angle.

The Attic Expeditions
Two Left Shoes Films presents this psychodrama but only makes this more confusion than the mental patients in the asylum. Alice makes a cameo 10 minutes near the start of the show. Alice plays a patient who was trying to escape. He has a comical part in this film. Other than that Seth Greene who is the only actor worth watching in the rest of the film.
It's one of these movies that ends where it starts. Pretty bad.

Spooks & Creeps
This collection of 6 short horror stories includes one w/ Alice Cooper that happens to be the first story titled "Freakshow". Alice does the introduction as well as doing the voice of Pirate Jack, a pumpkin. The story starts on Halloween night when two siblings, Joey & Sara go to the carnival. Joey the little boy dressed as a Pumpkin who just wants candy & Sara the older sister as a Cat who “wants to see some freaks”. Mr. Fingers rejects the duo from entering the show after Sara remark. They sneak in only to get separated who then Mr. Fingers finds the boy and tells him “for every treat you don’t eat you must give me a treat in return”. The boy collects bars and bars of candy from every freak that answers the door he knocks on. As he is stuffed Mr. Fingers reminds him of his promise for every treat he gets to eat. The boy offers candy to Mr. Fingers who rejects them as he tells the boy how greedy he is for collecting more than he can eat. Mr. Fingers and Freaks strap the boy to a chair placing his hand on a flat board and exposing a bowl of fingers showing him why he is called Mr. Fingers. The boy says he'll eat all of his the candy as he starts to binge on the sack full of treats. As the freaks surround Joey they all start chanting, “We will make you, we will make you one of us”. Mean while his sister finds an obese Joey strapped to the chair and screams as Mr Fingers chases her out of the carnival. On her exit out of the carnival is a new poster presenting "The Human Pumpkin". The film is about 10 minutes long.
As for horror stories I find this very entertaining. This reminds me "Night Gallery" as the other stories are just as good. Some range from 3 minutes to about 15 minutes. Most of the stars are people you may not know by name until you see them.

Live At Montreux DVD + CD
On July 2005 in Sweden, Alice Cooper performs at the Montreux. well really to be specific it's The 39th Montreux Jazz Festival which last from July 1 to 16th. Alice starts off his leg of tour promoting his new release "Dirty Diamonds". This 93 minute concert includes quite a collection of Alice songs through out his career. Alice performs 2 songs from "Dirty Diamonds" as well as 2 from his previous "Eyes of Alice Cooper". Includes the staples like "No More Mr Nice Guy", "I'm Eighteen", "Be My Lover", "School's Out" and "Poison". Out of the 27 tracks I notice 17 of the songs are from his solo career which shows Alice still created hits on his own. It was good to hear "I Never Cry" a ballad from "Go To Hell" album which I haven't heard in a longtime. "Gimme" from his underrated "Brutal Planet" album and "Lost In America" from "The Last Temptation" album that is another hidden gem of a record. From "Eyes of Alice Cooper" he performs 2 of my favorite tracks "Between High School & Old School" and "What Do You Want From Me".

The CD is shorter than the concert (19 out of 27 tracks) which they deleted the instrumentals of drum and guitar solos. Also some of the medley of tunes and I really didn't have to hear "Only Women Bleed" again. So I think the choices for the audio were good ones.

Alice includes all the theatrics including the swords, crutch, guillotine and straitjacket to name a few. Calico, Alice's daughter plays many roles from dancer, Vampire to Paris Hilton.
Band includes Guitar: Ryan Roxie, Guitar, Keyboards: Damon Johnson, Bass: Chuck Garric, Drums: Eric Singer.

Groovie Ghoulies
1970 Saturday "Mourning" cartoons w/ these lovable & creepy characters. This was a spin off from Sabrina The Teenage Witch. That's the original Sabrina that was also a spin off from Archie's cartoon and comics. Groovie Ghoulies was just short skits for the attention deficit. It was an animated version of Laugh-In, quick gags and jokes. Groovie Ghoulies w/ voices by Howard Morris and Larry Storch just 2 of the famous voice overs on Saturday Morning cartoons. Each episode included 2 songs by The Groovie Ghoulies a sort of Archies band. The Groovie Ghoulies aren't bad for a sugar pop band.

The extras include approximately a 10 minute interview w/ Alice Cooper. Alice plays along w/ the gag and talks about how he can relate to Count Drac. Also adds some comments on the band The Groovie Ghoulies. In all it's for fun.
